Bandits in a viral video have bragged to marry out the bride and other women that were kidnapped recently around Gamji, Damari town in Sabuwa local government area of Katsina State.

The 62 women and a driver were seen in the video paraded by the bandits, calling the attention of the government, members of the families and other well-meaning individuals to come to their rescue by paying ransom to the abductors.

Bandits also dressed in military and police camouflage uniforms, threatening; “Let’s see if there is anyone who can rescue them without paying ransom,” other terrorists in the background reiterated in Hausa; “All of them are here, you can see. People should stop lying that they are not 50, we have 63 of them with us including their driver. Look at the bride.”

The criminals brazenly declared their ambition to “marry off the bride again,” amplifying concerns over the safety and well-being of the kidnapped women.

An uncle to the bride, Haruna Abdullahi, disclosed that the terrorists are demanding a ransom of N100 million to release all the captives.

“They are asking for N100 million as ransom. None of us had ever seen that amount of money, so I told them point-blank that we didn’t have much money.

They said they did that video to show the governor how serious they are. They said the governor vowed that security agents would rescue them.

“I appreciate him (Governor Dikko Radda) for showing his concerns because he came here to sympathise with us and promised that they will all be rescued,” he said.
